CBD Oil Ain’t Just For Anxiety.

Nope. It’s good for SO. MUCH. MORE. Like helping to alleviate digestive issues.

CBD has been known to help reduce digestive issues by interacting with the Endocannabinoid System.
The ECS is made up of three main components: endocannabinoids, cannabinoid receptors, and enzymes. And these all work to maintain balance within the body by regulating functions like appetite and inflammation- this homeostasis then allows your cells, organs, and systems to function optimally.

To help with inflammation, endocannabinoids work with the cannabinoid receptors CB1 & CB2, which are mostly found in the brain and gut. When the GI tract or any organ in the digestive system is swollen, these receptors will then bind with cannabinoids and slowly begin to reduce the inflammation. #Relief

Studies have shown that the ECS can also help to stimulate your appetite with the assistance of the “Anandamide-a” cannabinoid that your body produces when needed to maintain balance. (CLICK HERE to check out the study)

When thinking about the relationship between CBD oil and digestion, people are often also thinking about CBD oil and something called “leaky gut.”

Leaky gut is a digestive condition where bacteria and toxins are able to “leak” through the intestinal wall. This happens as a result of an increase in the gut or intestinal permeability. This simply is NOT a good thing because you need the intestinal walls to be able to block harmful substances from entering into the bloodstream. CBD may help in preventing the increase of gut permeability caused by inflammation by binding with receptors to activate their anti-inflammatory properties. (CLICK HERE to check out the study.)

SO…..HOW DO I TAKE IT?

Honestly, it really depends on your lifestyle and preferences.

CBD oil for digestion is the ideal choice if the product’s absorption rate is important to you. CBD oil is taken sublingually (aka: under your tongue) and directly enters into the bloodstream. You should start feeling the effects in 20 minutes or less.

Then there are CBD gummies. The thing with dummies is that they take the longest time to work. In order to feel the benefits of CBD, it must first be digested before entering the bloodstream where it can interact with the ECS. Expect anywhere from 30-90 minutes before the CBD starts taking effect.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TAKE?

Remember that every single BODY is different and factors like your body weight and body chemistry need to be taken into consideration.

To start, take the lowest recommended serving size as suggested on the product label (and as advised by your MD). You can then gradually increase your dosage if you don’t experience any significant effects on whatever condition you are taking CBD, for such as digestion or anxiety.

THE BRAND I PERSONALLY USE AND RECOMMEND TO OTHERS

If you’re looking to try natural alternatives in order to avoid potential long-term side effects from other digestive aids that are on the market, using CBD oil for digestion can be a great place to start!

Just make sure you do your homework and look out for the following: products that are organically grown, third-party lab tested, contaminant-free, non-GMO, and of course, read reviews!

Personally, I take CBD oil from a company called SOUL CBD (CLICK HERE to visit their website)

I began adding their CBD oil to my toolbox about a year ago and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. Seriously, CBD truly does more for me than just aid in digestion….it also helps with anxiety, sleep, etc. It really, really helped me stay calm when my family moved during COVID to another state. So on occasion, yes, I will pull out the CBD to help support my body in an even greater way. (Oh and BTW, SOUL does NOT pay me for talking about or referring my tribe to them either.)

AN ESSENTIAL OIL ALTERNATIVE AND MY FINAL THOUGHTS
Now, if you are looking for an essential oil that also works with the ECS, look no further than doTERRA’s Copaiba.

Traditionally, Copaiba has been administered orally to promote the health of cardiovascular, immune, digestive, respiratory, and nervous systems. When taken internally, Copaiba essential oil may be calming, soothing, and supportive to the nervous system.

Copaiba oil contains the highest levels of β-caryophyllene (BCP) among currently known essential oils.
An irregular cannabinoid and sesquiterpene, BCP is a potent constituent within Copaiba essential oil.
BCP selectively binds to CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system.

Copaiba comes in both essential oil form - which can be taken both sublingually as well as topically - as well as in an easy-to-swallow softgel.

If you’d like to get your hands on doTERRA’s Copaiba essential oil, please send me a message so that I can help you get it at the lowest possible price.
