The 5 Things To Know About The COVID-19 Pandemic

#1 What Exactly IS Everyone Really Scared About?

If you, your family or friends still aren’t really sure what this virus actually IS, don’t worry, you’re not alone.

Apparently, these types of viruses are common in certain species of animals, such as cattle and camels.

The Coronavirus is “zoonotic,”  meaning this virus is able to be transmitted between animals and people. You can learn more about what this is all about by CLICKING HERE to read a report written by the CDC. Or CLICK HERE to read one called “Coronaviruses: a paradigm of new emerging zoonotic diseases” by Oxford Academic

Many of those initially infected either worked or frequently shopped in the Huanan seafood wholesale market in the heart of the Chinese city, however it is still unconfirmed how it was actually first transmitted to humans.[

#2 How The Virus Spreads

Just like the stomach virus or a cold, you should take the necessary precautions to keep yourself healthy.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person through respiratory droplets from a cough or sneeze. These virus-infected droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Gross.

You do not want to be in close contact with one another person at all right now - unless they are living in your house – like your spouse/kids - and healthy. So be sure to keep within the 6 feet away rule we are all hearing about. I’d even go for 7 or 8 feet!

#3 The Symptoms

Common signs of a COVID-19 infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and trouble breathing. In more severe cases, an infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death. You do NOT want to get this virus!

The CDC believes (at this time) that symptoms of the virus could show up in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure.

#4 COVID-19 Treatment

There is no specific antiviral treatment recommended. Yet.

People with mild symptoms can relieve symptoms by getting:

-Plenty of rest and sleep.

-Keeping warm – the virus does NOT like heat.

-Drinking plenty of liquids (go for warmth!), using a humidifier or taking a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough.

-Use a high quality, certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils for lung support such as: Bergamot, Rosemary, doTERRA OnGuard, doTERRA Breathe, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Douglas Fir and Melaleuca

For severe cases, go to the hospital immediately!

If you think that you may have been exposed to the virus, contact your healthcare provider before heading to their office. Everyone is taking extra precautions and we need to do our part to ensure the health and safety of those taking care of us!

#5 COVID-19 Prevention

•Use essential oils to help fight off viral health threats. Oils like doTERRA OnGuard, Frankincense, Lemon, Tea Tree, Melissa, and Arborvitae are excellent choices. (Hit REPLY to this email if you need help with this!)

•Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

•Clean and disinfect high-traffic areas where things are frequently touched using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes. There are also wonderful natural cleaning products that are just as effective!

•Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after coming inside from an outing, going to the bathroom, before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

•According to the CDC, it is not recommended that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases. They say that facemasks should be used by people who show viral symptoms to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. I personally wear a facemask and use gloves when I go to the market. You never know who will sneeze or cough next to you as you are picking up groceries.
